I am an International Relations scholar working at the Chair of Political Science, esp. Global Governance, at the University of Hamburg.
I am currently on leave, pursuing a senior research fellowship at Käte Hamburger Kolleg/Centre for Global Cooperation Research from April 2020-March 2021.

I seek to identify practice-based mechanisms and pathways towards sustainable global and regional cooperation. Given an increase in regime complexity and a proliferation of global governance institutions with overlaps in issue areas and jurisdictions, I pay specific attention to how organisations manage this institutional complexity and cultural diversity through boundary work between organisations and organisational units.
Strong institutions, I assume, are those whose principles and rules are established through bottom-up initiatives and practices.
